New Watercolors

Remembering Spring and Summer

I love the Clematis! I have several most willing to take turns showing off! This is an older one, name long forgotten that has spent the last ten years blooming in a weeping plum tree.

My new peony bloomed for the first time last spring and graciously posed for me!

Before you eat your veggies...Paint them!

Verde, Rojo y Caliente!

I'm always exploring different subjects to paint! I browse the produce isle and pick items that would make a good composition! I'm sure many artists look at food this way!

Painting of Grandaughters

My Grandaughters, Madilyn at 6, Alivia at 7. I am working on my portait painting.
To get where I want to be I have a lot of hard work ahead of me. Especially I need to get better references!
Here is a slideshow of the day I took the reference for this one!

The Comunication

Watercolor 11x16
I enjoyed a photoshoot last spring at a horsemanship clinic by a very knowledgable trainer.
He communicated both with horse and rider.
There will be more paintings of this man and horses.

Yurok story teller

Yurok Spokesman

Oil, 11x14

This is a painting I did of Mr. Frank Lara. He was spokesman for a demonstration of the Bush dance near Orick CA.
He spoke of the local history and traditions of the coastal Indians in our area. The dance is performed by tribal members for an ill child.

I SEE YOU!

Watercolor 11x14
I could not resist painting this impish Amish boy with his grubby little hands.
Reference photo graciously provided by Gary Clark!

Country Girls

I took the reference of these Belgian mares at a local parade last year. I was attracted to their old well used, mismatched harness. I did this in watercolor just to challenge myself. A challenge it was too! Enjoyed every minute of it! Watercolor 20"x 16"

I need attention

This is Cleo...she really wants some attention! "Paint Me?" or..."Hurry up, I want your chair..."

Peach

One of my latest watercolors, "Peach" 11x14. I love the boy's expression as he bites into a big peach. Is it sweet? Sour? This was Juried into a recent show at RAA show at the Morris Graves Museum.
I have been doing watercolor seriously for a little over a year. As a died in the wool oil painter for many years, the transition has not been an easy one.
